In 2004, I completed a bucket list project by bringing to life a half-hour long documentary film about two iconic Cincinnati mid-century-modern architects, Carl Strauss and Ray Roush. The film, A Hillside Firm, aired on public television and was nominated for a regional Emmy.
As creator, writer, producer and co-director, I worked alongside two highly talented professionals - Director of Photography John Erhardt and Editor Brandon Kraemer - to bring this film to life. Set to the music of concert pianist Alexander Schwarzkopf, the finished product includes the only known video footage of Strauss and Roush, as well as interviews with local and international architectural experts, including Michael Graves.
As soon as technology allows, I will find a way to upload the film to the internet so those interested can view the film. Stay tuned!
